Hi,

These black spokes were in good condition, however some of them had some superficial rust, so I removed the rust with "Scotch brite" and paint them black again. Now they all look great.

What would you guys mount first on the hubs?, the bearing/spindles or the spokes?

Thanks

Are these the original spokes or some unused that you have obtained? They were in remarkable condition.

I'm not sure I would want to attempt to rebuild a spoked wheel myself it must be very time-consuming if you are a novice. Do you know what torque setting you need for tightening the spokes? You will need a fixture of some sort to hold the hub so you can spin the wheel to watch for out of alignment so you need to fit the spindle to the hub first and thread all the spokes on, maybe you can use the forks. I'm sure if you look on youtube there will be someone doing a cycle wheel which isn't any different. I guess you start with 4 spokes at 90 deg to each other. so you can centralise the hub. Its much easier with the scooter! I'm glad I don't have to do this.

Hi John, these spokes are not the original mounted in my Scoiattolo, these are New Old Stock, with some little rust on some of them after been storing for many years. By the way, thanks Rudolf for sale them to me.

About rebuilding the wheel, I did already in the past with the Bicarburatore with good success, so I will also rebuild these once by myself.

If you are interested to see how I did in the other bike, among other subject, I show some photos and explanations at the next link (pages 38, 39 and 40) LINK: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=693&start=925

As you well say, there are many videos and information online explaining how to do it.

More soon!!

Hi,

Today I found some time to spend on the project, so the lacing at both wheels is done, still pending to do the truing, that will be done once I have the fork and swingarm assembled on the scooter body.

More soon.
