Hi,

The crankshaft I am going to mount in this engine is not the one that was originally there, so I removed out the clutch basket that was on this replacement crankshaft, and mount the original clutch basket on it. The reason is because apparently to avoid extra noise, is good to keep the clutch basket with the original other gears if possible, and in this case it is possible.

More soon.

Hi Hugo, it is a little late now, to advise you to never hold a crank in a vice across two flywheel discs, as this can knock the crank out of alignment. Only ever grip a crank by a single flywheel disc, that being the one which is on the shaft end being worked. I have seen a perfect shaft fall out of alignment by as much as 0.010", especially where the removal or tightening of nuts was involved or bearings being replaced.

Hi Ian, I know, know, I really hope it's not out of alignment. I didn't tight much, so I hope everything is in place.

Hi,

Very soon I will apply the undercoating protection in the interior side of the Scoiattolo body, to protect it and also to reduce noise. Rudolf explained me the areas where I should apply it and where I should not, however my fish memory is playing me again, so now I do not fully remember where I should not apply this undercoating protection.

One of the areas that I am almost sure I should not apply it, is where the engine attach to the body, that is why I have mount the upper half of the engine temporary, to mark it. I will remove that engine half before I start applying the undercoating protection.

I will also cover the hole of the fuel tank to avoid any of this product to go inside the fuel tank or at the thread of the fuel tap. At the thread for the rear suspension I will also do not apply that protection, obviously.

Beside the area of the engine, is there any other parts where I should NOT apply the undercoating protection?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Graham, thanks for these two other alternative products. At the moment I guess I will carry on with the one I bought already. Seem that this product is intended for that purpose. At the specifications said not only about the protection but also about the noise reduction, so I guess it should work (I hope).

My main concern at this moment is to know where I should not apply it.
