Re: dating sei giorni

thanks for the replies, I have been chatting with ian over this, it would appear that going on the frame and engine numbers that we have listed for all rumi motorcycles it would appear that both the engine number and frame number would point to 1959 manufacture. when it was first registered or even ...

Re: Spare tire carrier

I believe the argentine one was standard fitment on all but the earliest formichinos over there, and explains why they have 4 holes drilled where the number plate usually goes.

Re: spare tire carrier

That is the Argentine type carrier. You may find one by checking sale sites over there. Its a bit complicated to make as it usually incorporates a 2 piece circular toolbox/rear light bracket.

dating sei giorni

Can anyone help me find the likely manufacture date of my Sei Giorni? We are getting close to painting it and I need to find this information so I can use the correct tank badges - early/late without flag/with flag. Mine is from the USA. The ones in the USA had a different chassis number to European...

Re: Clutch and engine position

I have not had this problem with a rumi clutch, but I have had to play around with plates to get clearance when converting lambretta,s from 4 to 5 plates on higher performance engines, regarding the springs - if the old ones have enough strength to stop the clutch from slipping in use they will be f...

Re: Clutch and engine position

Hi Hugo, i only just saw this so a bit late now, it is as you say much easier with the engine on its side, but I have done it many times upright by using a dab of multipurpose grease to hold each spring in position, I usually change the crankcase oil as soon as practical afterwards just in case.

Re: RUMI Regolarita (Michael - Austria)

My one came via the USA and has the 3 digit number, it is stamped in a most unusual place,- on the right hand rear damper mounting lug. The engine number has no xx marks just a plain 5 digit number. Rudolf and Ian are both forum members with the vast knowledge regarding numbers for clarification reg...

These ones came with my early Scoiattolo. Note also the triple exhaust windows and unusual exhaust nut, the end of the exhaust pipe slides inside the exhaust port at the cylinder in the last photo. Re: Regolaritá Sei Giorni (Claudio - Argentina)

Rudolf/Hugo/Claudio, thanks for your continued help with my questions, unfortunately there are no engraved/stamped letters /numbers/makers emblems to be seen under the paint. They look very similar to the Sturcher ones you have shown, but not identical. My ones are also 28cm between centres but have...

Rumi certainly made some great looking machines, aesthetically for me never more so than no2 down on your set = early version sport, with the spindly undamped forks and solo saddle. If you have the optional 21" wheels even better.
