Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

Always good when you find the definite cause to a problem  . Reading this reminds me to ask - I do not like the idea of the split pin on the flywheel nut, if you cannot reach the position to match the slots in the nut with the hole in the crankshaft without overtightening it requires you to ba...

Re: Southern California Ebay Formichino

To confirm it looks like it was originally an argentine machine, there are certainly argentine spec parts fitted, that may or may not matter, some argentine rumi,s are fine, others may have led a harder life than usual.

Re: 1234 "5" once i caught a fish alive

you looked like a spring chicken at wicksteed mick, I owe you over that crank by the way - ian said when dismantled it wasn't the best "he actually used slightly stronger words" nothing I could see before dismantling, I was going to call but a crashed phone = lost a load of numbers and call history.

Re: Flatten the curve

I will be isolating tomorrow - out for a long ride on my formichino far away from everyone, not self isolating as my friend "lambretta" is keen to get some miles in before we are banned. keep safe everyone / don't be greedy in the shops / keep an eye out for elderly neighbours.

Re: engine removal

for many years I have removed those pins carefully with a dremmel, and used a good quality silicone sealant to retain and seal the seal holders, frankly if the seal holders are loose enough to require the pins to stop them rotating your chances of having good crankcase compression are zero.

I searched for many years for these and they are almost impossible to find. I have 1 spare pair of Dunlop universal in the correct size, stored in the dark = no cracking on sidewall, 1 new 1 barely used, they are good for display but have gone hard through ageing, open to offers ?. graham "uk"
