10" Formichino rims and Argentinian front fenders....

I have long wondered if anyone has installed a 10" rim and tire onto a Formichino that has the Argentinian front fender installed? Judging from the shape of the Argentinian-made fender, the tire would not have a lot of clearance to move up and down freely. Does anyone have any experience using this ...

The frame looks like it's made from a heavily modified Italjet Vampiro frame. Why they used a Scoiatollo engine is beyond me. I hope they at least used a 4-speed, hehe.

Re: Front shock absorbers

Top-of-the-line Lambretta scooters used an external damper system on their front forks. Many people convert their un-damped forks into damped forks by installing a few simple brackets and small hydraulic dampers. The Lambretta is a trailing-link suspension while the Rumi is a leading-link, but it do...

Arthur, don't forget about the beautiful and unique off-white and red versions. These colors are definitely not the stereotypical colors used on Italian racing bikes, but it's how some left the factory.

My guess is that Pat Guagenti has already done "the digging" when it comes to most of these shops (or shoppes).

My Junior Gentleman is running an 18-tooth front sprocket and a 47-tooth rear sprocket. I have no reason to believe that this setup has ever been changed since it was sold new.

Great to hear your Rumi is up and running. For the new year, you should resolve yourself to learning how to use a multimeter and how to check the resistance of a coil! HEHE.

Happy New Year!

Re: Bol D'Or - New Project

In the US, particularly here in California, you can take a motorcycle in 10,000 pieces with no title of ownership down to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and have it registered for road use and have it titled in your name in less than an hour, if you know what you are doing. You can also make...

Re: New Member & ISO Information

Here's a Junior Gentleman with all of the correct parts. It was basically a factory road racer with street lights and (here in the US) a brakelight. The engine numbers would read: 2XX????? and are specific to the Junior and Junior Gentleman models. The forks and damper are Marzocchi units, the brakes...

Re: New Member & ISO Information

It's what's left of a Rumi Junior Gentleman, probably 1961 or 1962. I'm afraid that most of what you have are the easier pieces to find. The missing parts like fenders, engine, seat, clip-ons, carbs, etc are almost impossible to find.

Hi, Rudolph

Judging from old photos and a 100% original Junior Gentleman, it looks like there is a bit of a cutout, but nothing like the Junior's fairing.

Hi, Rudolf, I wasn't the member who emailed you, but I am looking for a fairing for my Junior Gentleman. Do you know of a source or individual who is remanufacturing the fairings? I found a picture of my bike (thanks to Pat Guagenti) from the early 1970's and it was proudly wearing the fairing. I wo...

Re: Bol D'Or - New Project

Hi, Hugo. While you are playing around with you carbs, you may want to check the springs that are used on the air/idle mixture screws to make sure they are the correct length. Remove the springs from the mixture screws and then put the screws back into the carburetors, counting every single turn unt...

I have never heard of or seen an owners or workshop manual for a Junior Gentleman, but there are other sources that could help you. Re: Float bowl at the Bicarburatore with 22mm carbs. DOUBT

Hugo, my Junior Gentleman came from the factory equipped with UB 22mm carburetors and both carburetors are fed by the Dellorto twin float bowl. I doubt that gasoline starvation will ever be a problem using this bowl. For one, when using a synthetic 2-stroke oil, the gas-to-oil ratio is much less (30...

The receipt for the Junior Gentleman to Pat Guagenti was for my current Junior Gentleman. It is just part of the paper trail. No one ever registered it, they just passed it along with all of the old bills of sale until it got to me.

My engine numbers are: 2XX12792

Craigslist find

Just saw this cobbled together Sport for sale on Craigslist. Front brake looks to be from a Junior Gentleman. Fork appears to be Argentinian.
