Re: Electrical wiring Formichino

Hello Scotland, Wiring travels up behind bodywork past the stopswitch and emerges behind the headlight through a small gap under the fuel tank.I have always managed to fish this wiring through but some restorers fit the wiring at the same time as joining the body halves. If this is not clear,I am sur...

Re: UA15s details + front glass for Formichino

http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l552/mswatling/018_zps66741233.jpg These pictures show scooters restored using LD lenses with a third one sadly bearing the innocenti name. I can only guess that they are a later model than that owned by Scotland. Input from a Lambretta expert (greasy fingers) wo...

Hello Scotland,
I have used LD lenses on at least three occasions and they have all measured 110mm.
Best wishes

Re: UA15s details

Hello Scotland,
The headlight lens as fitted to Lambretta LD and D models will fit your headlight and are available from spares outlets.
I have struggled recently to obtain one without the Innocenti logo but even thus marked it can be a short term fix.
Happy new year

Hello Hugo,
I have a spare dellorto UB20S body to which you are perfectly welcome if it helps. The air filter spigot is threaded but you could probably overcome that.

Re: Surprised and wondering about Moto Rumi bolts

Would it be possible for a bolt manufacturer to omit the hex socket from a cap screw?
This would just leave Arthur to mill our own socket and would keep the rolled thread enthusiasts happy.

Re: crankshaft seals

Hello Bonneville
As you correctly say,the oil seals are a standard fitment. These are a press fit in the carriers (aluminium rings). It is difficult to imagine how,on dismantling the engine, you have damaged the carriers.
Best of luck, Michael

Re: Ex Rumi owner from the UK

Trevor Wiltshire sold me a swinging arm casting in 1962,which I could barely afford, he delivered it to me in Colchester on a BMW motorcycle. He must have been one of the first to completely polish a RUMI scooter, which featured in a scootering magazine at the time.

Re: Searching - Searching 18 mm twin.-carbs

Hello Lasse
As you already have the float chamber then sourcing individual carburettors may be an option.
Not being a pair would make it tricky to adjust one of them but not beyond a man of your ingenuity.

Hello Dan,
The chaps from Moto Rumi Club UK are fairly amiable and you can meet them at various functions throughout the season.
I live in Colchester, with Tony Mooring not far away and Roger (Tipo Sport) very near to Ipswich. Dave (scrim) is between me and London.
See you soon

Re: Exhaust Pipe Fit-up - New Parmakit Heads

Hello Dave,
My point was that any single unslotted hole will prevent adjustment.Ian has said previously that he has these bearings with no slotted holes.
Nice to see that you have survived the winter,we must meet sometime.
