Re: crank shaft specs.

Hi, Same as Lars, I can't help with the specifications, however "maybe" Edoardo Marsiletti can help you with a brand new one, and definitely less expensive than the once from Parmakit. If not, Parmakit option is also very good. You can find below Edoardo's forum profile. From there you can send him ...

Re: Insert battery

Hi Elie, I am not sure if this may help you, but there is an Scoiattolo that was coming out from factory with dynastart, so it also has battery on it. I know is not exactly what you are looking for, but as I said, maybe can be helpful for you to figure out how to do the wiring in your Formichino. LI...

Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

Thank you very much Lars and Graham for the links and photos of this tools. The one I made and using successfully many times is this one, but as you can see, it is made with thin aluminium and reinforced with two tube bars, to avoid it to bend. If I remember correctly that was a piece of aluminum th...

Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

Hi David, Yes, this crankshaft axle don't have the woodruff key, the reason is that this electronic ignition need the flywheel in a certain position, and happen to be different than the original position that the flywheel has when using brake points. So the only way to "turn" the flywheel is not usi...

Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

I understood what you meant, Hugo. You were talking about the key for the shaft. But that does not change my dislike for the castle nut, requiring a special tool (which I do not have!) and split pin - for no good reason. Only my opinion, too. I am just glad my Junior engine has the better solution,...

Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

Always good when you find the definite cause to a problem  . Reading this reminds me to ask - I do not like the idea of the split pin on the flywheel nut, if you cannot reach the position to match the slots in the nut with the hole in the crankshaft without overtightening it requires you to b...

Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! :D Ignition timing is now as it was before. I will remove the white dot mark to avoid confusion in the future. Unfortunately the piston is still hitting the new gasket seal. I was loosing the screws with the engine one to see if I managed to loose the head enough, but with the 4 ...

Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

Hi, Bad news but maybe also good news. I tried to start the engine but the timing is not correct. :( Then I remembered that I took one photos of the flywheel before removing it the first time, and there I can see some marks at the crankshaft axle, and also at the flywheel itself. I replicate that po...

Re: Engine doesn't sound as it should ... (BIG SURPRISE INSIDE)

Hi Lars, Yes, it is crazy that all this time I didn't know it. I made many things on this scooter along the years, but never remove that side cover because it was not needed. When the seller sold me the bike, he sent me a photo without the cover and there is visible the Dansi flywheel, so all these ...
