electronic ignition - has anyone fitted this -are there kits avilable? I would be gratefull for some advice

There are several brands that make them:

Powerdynamo
Rex Caunt racing
Parmakit

Using the Search tool at the right top side of the forum and adding the words "Electronic Ignition" + those brands (one by one in each search) you will be able to find many topics where we talk about them in the past.

Yes, many people mount them in their motorcycles and scooters with excellent results.
