Missing piece

Post by Elie » Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:40 pm

In this picture i see a piece no 19. What is this? I miss this piece. The reason why my engine is not working properly and always getting too much fuel?

Sorry can't post the photo. It's a round piece on the side of the carburettor inlet

Is your reference to part No.19 from the "Moto Rumi Servicing and Quick Reference Spare Parts Manual"? A copy of which Hugo was kind enough to place in the reference section of this Forum for me.

On page 20 (Petrol tank, Carburation and Exhaust System) of that document part No.19 is shown as a petrol filler cap, I rather think we need a little more information :!:

I cannot get to my Tipo at the moment to check but if memory serves, (not the most reliable tool in the box), my carburettor has a different solid clip (part 17).

I suspect but cannot state for certain that part 19 is a split ring made from a material with some flexibility. I suspect its purpose is merely to provide something for part 19 to clamp onto without risking damage to the carburettor body proper.

On the up side I do have a NOS single part 50 sculling around . . . ;)

Hi Dave

a short plastic tube, fitted in the carb outlet to ensure an accurate fitting to the manifold by accommodating the different joining diameters of the two items. Without this, an airtight fitting between the carb and manifold is impossible.

Well done that man :!: Makes sense. 8-)

Don't remember what was on my little red Formi but then that was back in the early '50's

No venturi, just parallel inner and outer surfaces.

Have a look at the next link. All those part that appear are for Dellorto UA carburetors

bought the plastic seal but there is too little play between carburetor and inlet, this seal is not necessary with this carburetor
